On Wednesday 17th December 2008,  the Parliament, in cooperation with UNFPA will conduct an orientation workshop for members of parliament on Humanitarian Programme UNFPA is implemented in cooperation with national counterparts. The workshop will take place in Samiramis Hotel in Damascus.

The workshop will be on Orientating the parliament on emergency prepared, Humanitarian programme response and support.  The workshop would highlight the role of the parliament in supporting Humanitarians response with a focus on reproductive health issues and the interventions needed for responding to disasters and emergencies that would affect large numbers of the population.

The workshop would tackle the importance of humanitarians and emergencies issues within the context of National Development Plan and in support of developing a comprehensive and realistic early intervention and respond to disasters and emergencies.
