Deputy Foreign Minister Dr. Fayssal Mikdad received on Wednesday the credentials of Aser Ahmad Toson as representative of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) in Syria.
The two sides discussed the standing cooperation between Syria and the UNFPA and means for developing it.
Dr. Mikdad affirmed the Syrian government commitment to the UNFPA and its programs, particularly in development field. He also welcomed the strong standing cooperation between authorities concerned in Syria and the Fund.
For his part, Toson expressed appreciation of the Syrian government's efforts in supporting UNFPA programs and the cooperation between the two sides, adding that the Fund is prepared to help guarantee the success of Syria's population plans.
